US D&F market faces further withdrawals

Chaucer's decision to exit the US direct & facultative (D&F) market revealed by Inside FAC, could kick-start a further retrenchment from North America among overseas facultative writers in the coming months, according to commentators.

Chaucer's decision to pull out of writing US D&F - as well as binder - business is something of a surprise given that its class underwriter for the account, written by composite Syndicate 1084, was appointed to the position only 18 months ago. Andrew Richardson joined...
