Starr launches into space with $35mn line

CV Starr subsidiary Starr Aviation has entered the satellite insurance market following its acquisition of leading space underwriter International Aerospace Insurance Services (Inter-Aero).

Managing General Agent (MGA) Inter-Aero acquired by the Maurice "Hank" Greenberg headed MGA and insurer - formally began underwriting from 1 July 2010.

The division, to be known as Starr Space, will provide cover for satellite launch and in-orbit insurance, with $30mn capacity on single launch and $35mn capacity for dual satellite launches such as those carried...
