Spoiling the broth

Looking around the market it seems pretty encouraging, doesn't it? After all, certain Chilean programmes have seen some decent renewals in the wake of the earthquake, according to the brokers.

For example, Guy Carpenter noted that Chilean rates at 1/7 showed increases in the 50 to 70 percent range, although it did point out that the heavy earthquake losses were insufficient to turn prices outside the areas immediately affected by the temblor.
