There's little doubt that 2010 was a momentous year for the pulp and paper industry. Of course from a (re)insurance point of view the key event of the year was February's earthquake in Chile, one of the world's largest producers of pulp & paper, which saw prodution severely disrupted at a number of plants as a result of the temblor.

Yet putting the Chilean earthquake aside for the moment, the industry itself has had to endure a turbulent year indeed,...
