Much ado about nothing?

The mining sector has already experienced testing times in 2011, with natural disasters disrupting the activities of several major operators, most notably with the Queensland floods of December 2010/January 2011. However, for declared losses the picture is less than clear. The last major announcement by any mining company of a specific loss was in November last year on the Pike River Coal mine explosion in New Zealand. It was one of the country's worst mining disasters...
