RMS: next big Frisco quake could be $200bn loss

The next big earthquake to hit the San Francisco Bay Area could cause losses of up to $200bn, according to catastrophe modelling firm RMS.

But with relatively low quake reinsurance penetration given the concentration of commercial and residential property, a significant proportion of the loss might not be covered, the company said.
