RMS estimates lower Niklas losses at EUR0.75mn-EUR1.5bn

Catastrophe modelling firm RMS has given a lower range than previous loss estimates for March's Windstorm Niklas, at EUR750mn to EUR1.5bn ($806mn-$1.6bn).

RMS said insured losses in Germany will account for around three quarters of the total loss.

Rival cat modeller AIR Worldwide gave an estimate of insured losses a fortnight ago for Extratropical Cyclone Niklas of between EUR1bn and EUR1.9bn ($1.09bn-$2.06bn).

AIR said the majority of losses occurred in Germany, with further damage sustained in Austria, Belgium, the Czech...
