Reno airshow organisers had $100mn cover

The organisers of the Reno Air Races, where 11 people died and scored were injured on 16 September when a plane crashed into a section of spectators, had $100mn in liability insurance.

The cover was structured as a $5mn commercial general liability policy for the calendar year beginning on 5 January 2011, topped up with a $95mn excess liability layer for the summer period, from 6 June to 28 September.
