A mixed bag of results from leading brokers has revealed that reinsurance operations are driving organic revenue growth in the sector.
Willis Group Holdings beat Wall Street forecasts with net income from continuing operations for the second quarter of $107mn, up from $84mn in the same period in 2011.
The improvement was based on lower expenses and strong performance in the broker's global division, which includes reinsurance, global specialties, Willis Faber & Dumas, and Willis Capital Markets & Advisory.
