Perils estimates Ophelia insured losses of $72mn

Catastrophe data specialist Perils has estimated insured losses in the UK and republic of Ireland from ex-Hurricane Ophelia at EUR60mn ($71.6mn) in a release today (27 November).

Perils said the storm, which made landfall in Ireland on 16 October, caused EUR49mn ($58.5mn) of damage in the country, with another EUR10mn ($12mn) of damage occurring in the UK.
