Perils estimates Eleanor/Burglind losses at $790mn

Catastrophe data specialist Perils has released an initial loss estimate for Storm Eleanor, the extratropical cyclone known as Burglind in Germany, of EUR643mn ($789mn).

The estimate follows that of modelling agency AIR Worldwide in mid-January, which put the insured losses as a result of wind damage from the storm at EUR1.1bn-EUR1.6bn ($1.3bn-$1.9bn).
