Property facultative rates in the near term are expected to be modest after a first quarter which saw underwriters achieve significant increases, according to Guy Carpenter.
Releasing its latest report on the renewals period, the broker noted that in property facultative lines, all underwriters made a push to lift rates in the first quarter this year despite loss activity in 2011 having let off reinsurers with US-focused fac books more lightly than those on international covers.
