Market faces $177mn ConAgra hit

The US casualty market could be facing a payout in the region of $174mn following a jury award in Illinois over a 2010 accident at a facility owned by US food conglomerate ConAgra Foods.

In April 2010 John Jentz, Robert Schmidt and Justin Becker were on a crew cleaning out a grain bin at a flourmill facility in Chester, south of St Louis, when it exploded as the trio were removing their tools, according to legal counsel.
