Australian cat tally reaches A$3.6bn
Industry insured losses from the Queensland floods and Cyclone Yasi have reached A$3.6bn, according to the Insurance Council of Australia (ICA). The costs cover more than 118,000 insurance claims received after the disaster, most of which have been assessed. Just over 3 percent of residential claims remain to be settled. The ICA added that the Australian insurance industry has already paid out A$960mn in settlement of flood and cyclone claims and continues to do so...
