Lloyd’s issues first direct policy in China

Lloyd's of London issued its first direct insurance policy in China today (14 September) through its fully owned subsidiary - Lloyd's Insurance Company (China) Limited (Lloyd's China).

The move marks the next step in its strategy to become a major provider of specialist (re)insurance in the region.

Lloyd's China's four managing agents - Travelers, Starr, Sportscover and Navigators - will initially begin underwriting directors & officers, marine cargo and sports contingency insurance.
