January storms cause $330mn of insured losses

Windstorm Ulli brought $200mn in claims for insurers with European exposures, while a rare January tornado outbreak saw at least $30mn in losses hitting the US market, according to a report released today.

In early January Windstorm Ulli caused widespread damage in the UK and Scandinavia, leading to thousands of insurance claims in the affected regions, with total losses estimated at around £200mn ($306mn).
