Global facultative rates have continued to plummet during 2010 with capacity remaining plentiful for most classes, but the number of trades is holding up even if buying patterns themselves are inconsistent in various regions.

Traditionally, certain areas of the fac arena have been the real barometers of a soft market, with opportunities for striking deals at attractive prices made available by some writers keen to sustain market share.
