Bermudians take brunt of $350mn Californian pipeline loss

Aegis Insurance, Energy Insurance Mutual (EIM) and XL Insurance are all expected to face significant losses as a result of the Pacific Gas & Electric Corporation (PGEC) gas pipeline explosion in a neighbourhood near San Francisco on 9 September, Inside FAC can reveal.

Aegis is understood to lead the slip with a $35mn participation in excess of a self-insured retention layer by PGEC of $10mn. EIM also participates at the primary end with a $25mn layer in excess of $45mn...
