Attacks resurface over crop reforms

US crop insurers have reiterated objections to planned revisions to the federal crop (re)insurance programme which is expected to lead to a 20-30 percent decrease in profits for underwriters.

Bob Parkerson, president of the National Crop Insurance Services (NCIS), said that at least two of the 16 insurers in the program have warned that they may be unable to live with the cuts.
