Aquiline-backed Lloyd's player Ark has hired Chaucer's former US direct and facultative (D&F) property underwriter Andrew Richardson, InsideFAC has learned.

Richardson underwrote US D&F business for Chaucer until the autumn when the Lloyd's (re)insurer withdrew from the line of business citing poor market conditions.

On joining Ark, Richardson will write business out of Syndicate 4020, reporting in to head of property D&F Neil Fox.
