Bermudian (re)insurer Allied World Assurance Company (AWAC) is to launch a Lloyd's insurer that will begin underwriting later this month.

Syndicate 2232, known as AWH, will be capitalised by a subsidiary of AWAC and is set to begin writing business on 30 June.

It will target international property, general casualty, professional lines and international treaty, with a focus on Latin America and the Asia Pacific region.
