‘Benign’ 2011 furthers softening aviation market

The aviation reinsurance market has experienced continued softening in 2011 following a "relatively benign" start to the year in terms of insured losses.

With just four losses in excess of US$10m and only three losses that have resulted in fatalities, this represents the best start to the year in the past five years, according to the Willis Q1 2011 'Airline Insight' report.
