$180mn power loss to hit US & London markets

A recent fire at Xcel Energy's Sherburne County Generating Station (Sherco), is expected to cost the power market up to $180mn, Inside FAC understands.

The November fire at Unit 3 of the coal-fired power generation plant has put it out of action for several months.

The Sherco programme is led in London by Aegis and in the US by Aegis NJ.

Industry sources have told Inside FAC that the Xcel programme is expecting a loss of between $120mn and $180mn...
